Recognizing Strengths, Empowering Recovery

Substance Use Services

Generations is dedicated to meeting the substance use and mental health needs of its community and region. We have been providing quality services available throughout Tennessee for the past 15 years.

The identification of needed services is always part of our overall assessment. An integrated approach to providing mental health and substance use services has been identified as a significant need within our community. Our integrated treatment will utilize cognitive-behavioral and motivational enhancement techniques to reach recovery goals and maintain long-term recovery. Our treatment will be strength-based, with our staff encouraging and understanding that hope and belief in these strengths are powerful and healing.

Integrated Substance Use Treatment Groups will be offered at Mental Health Centers located in Morrison and Cookeville, TN. Our services will be supervised by a Licensed Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor with experience leading and facilitating treatment groups.

An Individualized Treatment Plan  will be developed for each service recipient with focus on decision-making skills, responsibility, alternative/positive ways of coping, and changing negative behaviors. All of these services will be provided while allowing each individual to stay in their own community.

In order to be eligible for the integrated substance abuse treatment groups, the individual must:

  • Have a substance use diagnosis.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.

Generations substance use intensive outpatient treatment groups will be provided as follows:

  • Groups meeting 4x weekly, Monday thru Thursday.
  • Each group session will be 3 hours in length.
  • Program duration will generally consist of 20 sessions.

Additional in-house referrals will be provided if appropriate and may include medication management, care management, and mental health therapy. Referrals will be made to community resources and may include Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Community Support Groups, and Community Medical Professionals.

A diagnostic assessment is required and will be completed prior to providing services.
